A TIMELINE?

This week I turned 66y/o. I never figured to be this old! Someone said that wisdom is wasted on the young. That statement is only partially true. If the young do not hear the Voice of Wisdom, then they can never "see". Wisdom, unfortunately, can only be gained with experience; it cannot be taught as a "subject". Gaining experience, and thereby, wisdom, takes time. Unfortunately, we humans generally do not live long enough for "total" wisdom, and for the foreseeable future, never will.

A life can be sectioned like the calendar. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. The months are unimportant, the seasons being figurative. Spring is your start: you are born and begin to learn. Your Summer of Life begins roughly when you graduate high school or college and "slides" into Fall as you age. A person's Summer and Fall of Life can be decades long. You may not know realize it, but you are gaining wisdom during this period! For me, wisdom came as "flashes" of insight that truly explained something. In my case, they were slow in coming, and I am paying for it now. I am well into my late-Fall, early-Winter of Life.

This Winter of Life is a fairly sad time...or can be. It does not have to be. Many I have known are gone: my father, my younger sister, friends, beloved pets and others. Past experiences can be a sad reflection or something that makes you smile. Some of these memories will always be sad but even then, they can be joyous. The experience enriches YOU, whether sad or not. Fortunately, upon reflection, I do not have many regrets or profoundly sad experiences.

It is the duty of all, to share their wisdoms with those behind you. By doing this, with varying but constant communication, hopefully it will make the path forward easier. Rehashing old, tired things and ideas just slows things down: sideways movement as opposed to going forward. Thank to Stars that EDUCATION can never fade, but can be ignored by the stupid, the brainwashed masses or the ignorant. The latter two can be assuaged by a liberal (sorry) and constant application of education. Stupid? Well, there's no hope there.

Wisdom is a powerful, if intangible, part of the Human Spirit.
